    On the index page:
    "Important Notice - The German airplanes are often fitted with a device permitting the pilot to destroy his machine in case of a forced landing in the enemy lines.  This apparatus is composed of a box placed in the carlin.  A second box containing an explosive, is screwed to the bottom of this box.  In order to work this apparatus, a hand lever has only to be pulled.  The explosion takes place after 20 seconds.  Th box bears the following inscription near the hand lever:  Vorsicht:  Vorstecker nicht herausziehen. Lebensgefahr."
