    Description

    Waterman Emblem pen, burgundy lucite with clear ends and gold filled trim. When the FTC banned long-term guarantees for fountain pens, Waterman renamed its Hundred Year Pen the 'Emblem' -- it was otherwise identical. This is the oversize Emblem pen, the rebadged Supersize Hundred Year Pen. The nib is Waterman's 18-size nib, successor to the giant Patrician nib.
    This is one of the models with a clear barrel prone to disintegration, and on this pen the barrel end has already been replaced, so the new owner does not have to worry about it. The amber cap top is original and appears to be in good shape.
    The nib is fine to medium and fairly flexible, capable of noticeable line variation though not your spectacular copperplate nib. It gives some springiness to your writing. See the writing sample.
    Lever filler, restored with a new sac installed. Length about 5  1/16 inches.
    The writing samples were made with the pen itself, dipped in Waterman Intense Black ink, on a Rhodia pad.
