Vintage Amish Hooked Rug Runner Perfect Condition Unused 69” X 21”

Description

This lovely, handmade hooked runner rug features an interesting combination of styles. The design is a modern interpretation of a classic stylized floral decoration (pansies) with a braided chain motif and scrolling. All of the colors are remarkably bright and crisp, and based on a similar rug, we estimate that the carpet is from the 1930s, possibly the 1940s and from PA Amish country. The rug or runner measures about 69" by 21” and is in excellent condition. No wear to the edges, center or perimeter, No stains, no odors, and ours is a smoke-free and pet-free home. It may not have ever been used.
The colors of gentian blue, bright green and black in the pansies are lovely, and the geometric shapes of flowers and leaves are very pleasing. The pansies are placed at each of the four corners of the rug with 2 in each corner. Two pansies are sited at the center of the rug with 2 others offset on each side. The background is black with brown and beige/cream scroll work. The binding is burlap. The condition is like new and perfect. This rug would make a lovely addition to any room and will give many years of use.
