Pretty Tropical-looking Floral Design Special Hand-hooked Rug 32”X 21” Pastels Great Shape.
Vintage small hand-hooked rug in wool with a lovely floral design evoking a lush garden. Happy pastel colors predominate on a beige/taupe ground with plain borders and a floral center. This rug might be made in China or another export country, but it is handmade.
Clean with some water stains on back not visible from or affecting the front shown in photo 2.
One little pull barely visible on front near edge of center design (photo 5).
Tropical feeling with great colors of pink and light gray green and other shades of pastel colors. Florals are palm fronds and a camellia, an iris and some other pretty flowers.
32” x 21”
The light taupe background - grey beige neutral - sets off the subtle muted floral design in this small rectangular rug. Flower colors are salmon/coral, pink, blue, beige with leaves in moss & fern green, making for a very different look.
The overall condition of the rug is very good with backside covering in good shape. The only flaw noted is the very slight pull noted and shown in photo 5. There are a few barely visible, light brown stains on the back probably water stains.
Overall, this is a unique, sweet rug that would make a really nice addition to any room. It would be lovely in front of a fireplace, at a doorway or in front of a nice piece of furniture. The design is very pleasing and graceful.
No real flaws noted (see photos). Very clean, maybe never used.
