  • Condition: This interesting 16” by 20” document has great vignettes at the top and bottom. The blue War Office seal is in the bottom left corner. This was signed by Secretary of War, Newton Baker as well as The Adjutant General, Henry P. McCain (an uncle of Senator John McCain) in the upper left. The appointment was for then Captain, eventually Major William Johnston McKay. McKay was fairly well known in his own right. The document is mounted on thin board. It has toned. The corners and parts of the edges are damaged. Please see photos for condition. A wonderful addition to your collection.
