Description
Beautiful gramophone/phonograph in mahogany and walnut, made around 1903, with travelling armThis gramophone is a bit of a mystery to me. I've never seen it before, but it looks genuine and is probably one of the 'German' models made by Deutsche Grammophon Actien Gesellschaft (DGAG).
Beautiful mahogany and walnut case with Art Nouveau gold motives engraved in the wood (faded due to age).
Good running and rare early Victor motor and original travelling arm.
The exhibition reproducer isn't correct, but it works well; a Concert soundbox could be fitted to make it right again. The horn is original, but I'm not sure about the brand. It could be an option when it was sold almost 120 years ago; it could be a Zonophone horn as well. Anyway, I think it looks great upon this machine!
