c Late 1930s/1940s Elgina Guilloche Compact Case. This is a previously owned item.
Provenance: the previous owner of this item began collecting various topics from when she was a child. In her early fifties she began to downsize some of her collections. This was part of her collections.
During examination and photographic process I was able to determine that Elgina  was a division of Elgin known as Elgina Guilloche. This item dates back to the late 1930s into the 1940s.
Insofar as to the condition, there are numerous scratches on the obverse and the reverse of the compact. Furthermore, the metallic portion of the item has discoloration and deterioration. I also noted that the right portion of the hinge has deterioration. This causes some difficulty maintaining a closed position.
